Audio Technica AT-LP60BK-USB (typically $129)

Audio Technica makes some of the best all around budget turntables in the market place and they have models at various price points based on your needs. The Audio Technica AT-LP60BK-USB is the best turntable under $200 for my needs for several reasons. It's a basic setup that has all your needs covered with a built-in phono pre-amp so you can connect it directly into powered speakers or into a receiver that is already set up, it plays records at 33 RPM and 45 RPM which are essentially the only ones necessary for records being released today. Something that might also make it interesting is that it also connects to your computer via USB should you be interested in converting older vinyl into mp3s on your computer. Really, all you need is a record player under $200 that plays records at both of these speeds and has a built in preamp so you can plug it directly into powered speakers. Coming in at well under the mark of $200, this is the best turntable under $200 out there right now.

Crosley C200A-BK Direct Drive Turntable (typically ~$190)

This Crosley C200 turntable is a surprisingly great entry-level turntable at less than $200. It's retail price is normally $280! Many critics of the Crosley brand find shortcomings in the brands' all-in-one turntable setups because of their cheaper components and potential to damage vinyl records, but this component record player challenges everything critics think they know about Crosley. It's a sleek design direct-drive, high-torque turntable with an S-shaped tonearm and a higher quality Audio Technica cartridge pre-installed and plays your records at 33-1/3 or 45 RPM as necessary. It features pitch control and a built-in phono pre-amp so you can plug it directly into powered speakers for an incredibly simple setup, or integrate it into your stereo you have in place already.

Sony PSLX300USB USB Stereo Turntable (typically ~$130)

Another great turntable for under $200 is this Sony fully-automatic belt-drive turntable that plays records at 33 1/3 & 45 RPM, boasts a built in pre-amp so you can plug it directly into your stereo or powered speakers, and has a USB output. If it's something you'd like to do, you can even connect it to your computer and use the included software to turn your records into MP3s. With a trusted name like Sony, you might have more comfort buying this brand than some others you've never heard of. 

Pioneer PL-990 Automatic Stereo Turntable (typically ~$120)

Pioneer has always made great electronic products and this automatic turntable is a great option under $200 if you're keeping your stereo budget low. It boasts a low-mass tone arm so it will help prevent damage to your vinyl records from excessive pressure, it's fully automatic so you don't have to set the needle yourself and it stops spinning when the record is over, and it plays records at both 33 1/3 & 45 RPMs. Essentially the most basic turntable setup that will do everything most people need.

Stanton T62 Straight Arm Direct-Drive DJ Turntable (Typically ~$160)

This Stanton T62 turntable is a highly revered entry-level turntable for good reason. It's a high-torque direct-drive model with a straight tone arm that is great for DJ use but perfectly suitable for home use as well. It is fully manual with a 10% pitch control and tracking force range from 0 to 4 grams so you can adjust how much pressure is being put on your vinyl and plays your records at 33-1/3 & 45 RPM as necessary. This is a great entry-level turntable.

Crosley C100A-SI Turntable (typically $135)

This entry-level turntable from Crosley is a great budget turntable to get started listening to vinyl records. It retails for $199 but is typically available for well below that price via the links on this page. It is a belt-drive turntable, unlike it's more expensive counterpart on this page, and has an adjustable S-shaped tonearm, pitch adjustment, anti-skate adjustment, as well as the protective lid to keep closed when you're not actively changing out your records. This turntable plays back records at standard speeds (33-1/3 & 45 RPMs) and has a built-in phono preamp so you can plug it directly into powered speakers or into the receiver/amplifier you already have in place. 

Music Hall USB-1 Record Turntable (typically ~$199)

This under $200 entry-level turntable from Music Hall is a great starting point for any vinyl enthusiast. It features USB connection to rip your music from your vinyl records onto your computer, has a belt-driven motor with S-shaped tone arm, a solid plinth to minimize vibration, and an Audio Technica cartridge for superior sound quality. Another highly desirable feature is the built-in phono preamp that is switchable so you can start out by plugging this turntable directly into powered speakers and bypassing a receiver or external amplifier. This turntable plays records at standard 33-1/3 and 45 RPM speeds.

TEAC TN100CH 3-Speed Analog Turntable (typically ~$125)

This belt-drive 3-speed (33-1/3, 45 & 78 RPM) turntable from TEAC is a basic turntable to get started listening to your vinyl records. It has a built-in switchable phono preamp so you can plug it directly into powered monitor speakers as well as a USB connection to allow you to plug directly into your computer. 

Audio Technica AT-LP60BT (Typically $179)

This is the same as the main recommendation on this page, it's the same model Audio Technica AT-LP60 with the addition of bluetooth connectivity. So it plays records at the two primary speeds you need, 33 and 45 RPM, it has a built in pre-amp so you can plug it directly into powered speakers without the need for a receiver, but it also has the ability to play via bluetooth to any bluetooth-enabled speaker you want to pair it with, if that's your thing. Connecting via bluetooth is not something I think many people are seeking to do, so at nearly $50 more than the main recommendation above, I just don't see it as worth it.

Connected Essentials Turntable for Vinyl Records (typically ~$160)

This turntable boasts all the same qualities you can see on other turntables on this page but is a lesser-known brand in the market. If there is something about the features of this particular model that you like, there is probably a more reliable option elsewhere on this page, especially the recommendation at the very top of the page. Regardless, it does have most of the features you should expect for this price range and rings in less than $200--not too bad. It plays records at standard speeds (33-1/3 & 45 RPMs) via belt drive, has a balanced tone arm with adjustable counterweight, anti-skate adjustment, USB output, and built-in phono preamp. Not bad for an entry level turntable under $200.

Electrohome Signature all-in-one Vinyl Record player (typically $199)

This website features turntables for all your needs and we have an entire page dedicated to all in one turntables and record players over HERE, but if you're looking for the best turntable under $200, this Electrohome Signature Vinyl Record player is surprisingly good for being an all in one record player with speakers. It won't connect well to a receiver or a stereo you already have in place, but it's a powerful system by itself and is loaded with features. It can play records at 33/45 AND 78 RPM, it's automatic, it has a built in CD Player and radio, it connects to USB, and has 4 stereo speakers built right into the cabinet itself. Just plug it in and you're all set.

Crosley Nomad All-in-One vinyl portable record player (typically ~$150)

Personally this is one of my favorite all-in-one vinyl record players because I love the aesthetic and I think it works for a lot of purposes and provides a nice sound even with it's smaller stature. It plays records at all speeds (33-1/3, 45, 78 RPMs), has auxiliary input, USB for connection to your computer if you want to rip MP3s from your vinyl, and a headphone jack so you can listen to your records in solitude.

Pyle PVTT15UBT Bluetooth Record Player Turntable With Speakers (typically $140)

This old fashioned retro turntable from Pyle is a great all-in-one turntable with speakers if you're looking for a vintage-inspired aesthetic and simply playback features. The lid pops up on the long side of this cabinet and all you need to do is put on your favorite vinyl record and start enjoying the music. This model plays records at standard speeds (33-1/3, 45 & 78 RPMs), features AM/FM radio tuner, USB Flash and SD card reader input, and bluetooth connectivity. A great all-in-one package with a cool look to match.

Crosley Dansette Junior Portable turntable (typically ~$150)

This all-in-one turntable from Crosley is a great looking option for anyone who wants a simple and clean setup with no additional equipment needed to start using--JUST ADD VINYL!

The Crosley Dansette Junior Portable Turntable plays back records at standard speeds (33-1/3 & 45 RPMs), has AUX input and output jack for listening on your favorite headphones. Simple and easy. The forward facing speakers project the sound straight forward versus some of the other options which muffle the sound if put in the wrong position in the room. 

Pyle PPTCM80BTGR Vintage Retro Classic Style Bluetooth Turntable Speaker System (typically ~$160)

This all-in-one retro turntable is a great entry-level system if you're trying to get into listening to your music on vinyl. Speaking of detachable speakers, the ability to move the speakers away from the main cabinet is great for vibration reduction which should optimize vinyl record playback since they won't have to sit on the same surface. Electrohome Wellington Record Player Retro Vinyl Turntable (typically $150)

This all-in-one vinyl record player by Electrohome is like the little brother of the first all-in-one record player on this page, but it's almost equally impressive. Most importantly, it plays back vinyl at all speeds (33-1/3, 45, 78 RPMs) and it features a real wood cabinet for that old fashioned nostalgic look. It also has an AM/FM radio tuner, CD player, USB, and headphone jack to satisfy all your desired uses. This is one of the most highly reviewed all-in-one turntables on the market.

The Innovative Technology classic retro bluetooth stereo system is a great option if you're looking for an 80s-inspired retro turntable under $200. It plays vinyl records at 33-1/3, 45, & 78 RPMs so you'll be able to play all of your records no matter what era they were made. It has bluetooth so you can play music from your phone, tablet, or computer, and has USB and a headphone jack so you can listen to your records in your favorite headphones. A CD player and FM tuner adds versatility, while the included remote offers convenience. One of the biggest benefits to this kind of design is that the speakers are independent from the cabinet that houses the turntable platter and your vinyl, so if you turn it up to high volume, the bass shouldn't make the needle jump on the vinyl.
